When artists go Math

Innumerable times I have been to taking for granted, being wrong, that all the people in the 3d graphics field knew, at least, the simplest mathematical formulas that rule on rendering.
It is strange to find so much people, who use terms as Gouraud shading, create a diffuse texture , specular and normal maps, who having only a summary knowledge of what their own actions will produce.
Also, The same people, complain about to not succeed in making a texture for a specific material or  a model that doesn’t react so badly to the light.
Also some programmers don’t really know some rendering formulas but that is all another story.

So?!?

Well, in this article, we will introduce the series ‘Math Behind Rendering’.So keep reading to discover how this math will help you improve your artistic skills.
